According to the customer's reaction,the night before yesterday, it was normal when driving.But the next morning, the car could not be started.The vehicle starts up after connecting the new charger,but the engine is shaking seriously,so drag the car to the repair shop.
Therefore, after connecting the vehicle to the workshop, the diagnostic computer ISTA has the following fault codes:
A.00A6E4 Adjustment of boost pressure
As a follow-up reaction is closed
B.002DB1 Adjustable camshaft control, intake
The camshaft is not in the interlock position at startup
C.002D5A Adjustable camshaft control, intake
Control failure, jam camshaft
D. 002EFE flameout, multiple cylinders
Related faults have been identified.
Through the fault code analysis, we can know that there are two faults related to the faulty lamp that can cause the engine:
B.002DB1 Adjustable camshaft control device, intake air:
The camshaft is not in the interlock position at startup
C.002D5A Adjustable camshaft control unit, air intake:
Control failure, jam camshaft
Most of the other failures are derived from this failure. In order to eliminate the fault of the intake VANOS or the failure of the VANOS adjustment device, after the two intake and exhaust VANOS solenoid valves are reversed and the fault code is cleared, there is no fault in the engine computer, and the engine is restarted. The fault remains:
B.002DB1 Adjustable camshaft control device, intake air:
The camshaft is not in the interlock position at startup
C.002D5A Adjustable camshaft control unit, air intake:
Control failure, jam camshaft
Since the fault is only after the start, and the ABL diagnostic program of the intake VANOS system is running, the detection prompt fails.
After deleting the fault code, re-start the engine, the engine start-up time becomes longer but can start, and the fault phenomenon remains.
Failure analysis
The engine is shaken after starting, indicating that the basic data of the engine is not normal. The fault code is deleted and started, and the fault code can be deleted. With the start, the fault codes 002DB1 and 002D5A reappear, indicating that the intake system is adjusting the system fault.
The variable camshaft cannot be adjusted, so the reason why the camshaft cannot be adjusted is as follows:
A. Intake VANOS solenoid valve issuance
B. Intake air VANOS adjustment control line failure
C. Intake air VANOS adjustment unit unit is issued or damaged
D. Intake air VANOS control oil passage oil pressure is too low
Troubleshooting
Maintenance is in the order of inspection from simple to rare:
1, due to the previous adjustment, the fault remains.
2. Since the fault code can be deleted, it will only appear at startup, so it can be judged as a mechanical fault.
3. Remove the valve cover and check the VANOS adjustment unit. The appearance is normal. When checking the VANOS lock function, it is found that the intake VANOS cannot be locked and the exhaust is normal.
Therefore, it is judged that the engine power is reduced due to VANOS (intake) damage and the multi-cylinder flameout failure.
Replace the intake VANOS control unit and re-test the vehicle after normal timing.
